Alike is what happens when people with cancer become builders for their community. We’re a registered charity, driven by lived experience, and focused on creating digital spaces for the cancer community where a meaningful sense of belonging can flourish.
There’s no easy way to live with cancer. It’s an experience you never expect and can’t prepare for - and it can be lonely. That’s where we come in - forging the moments of connection that remind the cancer community that they aren’t alone.
On good days and bad days, no matter who you are, or where you’re at in your journey, we’re here to take the loneliness out of cancer. Because it’s hard enough as it is.
"I know first-hand how isolating cancer can be and how many people have to face it every year. After years of working with groups and charities, being inspired by the peer support I experienced, I wanted to find a way to use the technology around us to combat that loneliness. This digital network just didn't exist, which seems extraordinary in an age when we're all connected through our phones. Alike creates that opportunity to build friendships and be part of a community that doesn't just support, but understands. It's genuinely groundbreaking."

The Bigger picture
Our ultimate vision is as crystal clear now as when we were founded in 2019: A world where no one is lonely or isolated because of cancer.
The Alike app was our first step - a safe and inclusive space where you can find other people who understand what you’re going through - but that’s just the beginning.
We have ambitious long-term goals to use what we learn from the Alike app to guide policy and improve the social side of life with cancer. As our network expands, we’ll continue to listen closely to the community, both online and in our everyday lives. It’s those voices that guide us at every turn.
